Started early in 2008, ReducedMass.com is a website dedicated to bringing a broad array of scientific news to the general public, as well as writing original articles trying to explain physical phenomena in a language that non-science educated people can understand. In contrast to most scientific journalism out there, we try to present our material in a more informal and straight forward manner.
The site main focus is on astronomy and physics, due to the fact that the two writers are master-students in Physics and Astronomy. The content will primarily be scientific, keeping political and other more subjective views at a minimum.
The team:
Henrik Brink received his Bachelor of Science degree in Astronomy from the University of Copenhagen in 2007, writing his thesis on gravitational lensing. He specializes in scientific programming, and works part-time as a programmer alongside his studies. He is currently working on his masters degree at the University of Copenhagen after spending 6 months in Portugal as an exchange student.
Kári Gunnarsson recieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of Copenhagen in 2007, writing his thesis on experimental plasma physics. His main interests are in experimental optics. He is originally from Iceland but moved to Denmark to study, and spent a year in California as an exchange student. He is currently working on his masters degree at the University of Copenhagen.
